The Antiques and Garden Show of Nashville is a first-class event that’s perfect for Portraits, Inc., and we loved participating again this year. The show was held at a new venue, Music City Center in downtown Nashville, which had many people excited to attend the 3-day show on February 7-9.
I was thrilled to be on the Portraits, Inc. team leading the effort to create a beautiful booth. We worked with a professional lighting company to help draw attention to our great variety of portraits and extraordinary sculptures by Alan LeQuire. This brought a lot of people in, and many were very engaged.
Several people seemed to already know a lot about portraits, but they also had some great questions. It was interesting to hear from those who needed advice about having portraits done of their children at different ages. One person asked what to do if you can only have a portrait done of one child and not the others. My suggestion was to go ahead and have portraits done of individual children when you can, even if they are done at different ages, then get all the kids together for another portrait when they are older but before anyone starts heading off to college.
I loved seeing people come by who recognized a friend or family member in the portraits we were displaying. One woman even recognized herself in a portrait from 20 years ago. I was able to rekindle relationships and catch up with people I’ve known my entire life. It’s wonderful that Portraits, Inc. can be part of the Nashville community and offer the great tradition of portraiture to people in the area.
