We are so pleased to announce the unveiling of a commissioned portrait of General Martin E. Dempsey, the 37th Chief of Staff of the United States Army. Dempsey is now the 18th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest-ranking military official in the United States.
The portrait commemorates the general’s service to the Army and was recently unveiled at the Pentagon. It is such an honor to have the opportunity to work with a distinguished veteran of the U.S. Army. A portrait is such a prestigious way to recognize one of our country’s highest-ranking military personnel.
It gives us great pride that a painting by one of our portrait artists will hang in the Hall of Heroes in the Pentagon, along with many notable artists of years past. The portrait was painted by artist, Laurel Stern Boeck, of New York. We love that it contains several unique elements that were important to General Dempsey. He is wearing his graduation ring from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, his family picture hangs in the background and there is also a painting included that depicts the Irish Brigade going into battle during the Civil War.
The unveiling was attended by many distinguished guests, including Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta, Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh and former Chief of Staff of the Army retired Gen. George W. Casey Jr., whose portrait was also a commission of Portraits Inc.
