In April 2011, Portraits, Inc. and flower magazine were proud to present a fundraiser called "A Tribute to Art and Flowers." Birmingham floral designer and flower Contributing Editor Sybil Sylvester (pictured above) answered questions while creating both a traditional English arrangement and a more contemporary design. While she worked, three of our talented artists interpreted her visions onto canvas. The paintings were then auctioned off and all proceeds were given to VSA of Alabama, an organization dedicated to serving those with disabilities and chronic illnesses through the arts. It was so exciting to see all of these wonderful artists at work! The painting and floral demonstrations were followed by a seated lunch catered by George Sarris and the Yellow Bicycle Catering Company.
